A Hearty Enjoyment

When I got home I felt a sudden relish for pleasure... pleasure of playing with my daughter Dayne.

Playing with her is priceless. She got tons of them. I've got only one, HER!

Pretty as a picture
Sweeter than a swisher
Mad cause I'm cuter than the girl that's witcha
I can talk about it cause I know that I'm pretty
-Keri Hison-

Caring for Barbie dolls is fairly simple. Add a few drops of mild dish detergent to a small amount of lukewarm water. Test a place on the doll’s body that isn’t visible when she is fully clothed. Use caution on the face so that the facial paint is not damaged. Dip a cotton swab in the liquid and gently clean the doll. -Free Articles Directory-

All eyes on me when I walk in,
No question that this girl's a 10
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful
My walk, my talk the way I dress
It's not my fault so please don't trip
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful -Keri Hilson-

If you're looking for me you can catch me (pass by)
Cameras flashing
Girls think I'm conceited cause I know I'm attractive
Get yourself together don't hate (never do it),
jealousy is the ugliest trait (don't ever do it)
I can talk about it cause I know that I'm pretty
-Keri Hilson-

Dayne has been collecting Barbie since she was a toddler.

She couldn't get enough of them!

Her latest!

After playing, she made mango shake for merienda. ( Mangoes taken from our backyard. )

After that, tonsillitis took over.

Goodnight Everyone!

Looking Back on April 29, 1999

Our lovely child

Itanong mo sa akin
Kung sino’ng aking mahal
Itanong mo sa akin
Sagot ko’y di magtatagal
 Ikaw lang ang aking mahal
Ang pag-ibig mo’y aking kailangan
Pag-ibig na walang hangganan
Ang aking tunay na nararamdaman

Ang nais ko sana’y inyong malaman
Sa hilaga o sa timog o kanluran
At kahit sa’n pa man
Ang laging isisigaw

A toast to 12years of beautiful marriage!
Happy anniversary to the sweetest husband!
They say the greater the hype, the smaller the chances of marital success. We can always pray for the royal couple to have wonderful years of marriage.

Taking His Route

" Back in harness" - I have never used this metaphoric expression in my status in Facebook. I love to think that I was designed for nursing but there were times when I felt that there is no more excitement left for me to hug at work. Perhaps it is due to stress.

At the ward, I have my own "deaf-mute" culture and sadly, the best way to survive and last longer is to swim with the current (if not, you'll be drowned without you knowing).

I love being a nurse! At the wrath of typhoon (can't recall the name), I was working at Veterans' oncology unit. At the height of H1N1, I was working with full PPE at Mount E.  At the time when I should be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary, there was I working (even if I had just undergone dilatation and curettage). Instead of celebrating the joy of the holiday season with my family back home, I wasn't able to because my job at King Fahad Hospital competed for it.
But even before I decided to join the league of nurses (although there were few times when I regretted it), I have already embraced that the important and biggest part of my time will be stolen from me.

I still chose to continue to work not only because I enjoy the OFW pay but because this is the route He has chosen for me.

Ate Mercury celebrated her birthday at work.

"My father is at work until now, so I am at work."
Happy working my Ward 9 family. Will be back in harness soon!

Me and My Catholic Faith

In one of my encounters with non-Catholics I was very much surprised when I heard from him his insinuation that Catholics are not Christians. How can any Christian denomination afford to say it?

Through my readings I've learned that one of the reasons why Catholics leave their faith in favor of other denomination is because of their inadequate knowledge of their Catholic faith, their willful negligence to know the dogmas and doctrines of the Church and the truth behind its existence.

During Good Friday procession
Let me share my father's teachings about Catholic.

Doing something without basis is fanaticsm and believing on something based on a mere opinion is ideology. Faith must be founded on truth. And the truth about religion can be attained through three important ways, namely the Bible, history and logic or common sense.

A. Bible is not enough.  (Please don't get him wrong, he values the Holy Bible very much) Not everything done by Jesus Christ is in the Bible ( John 21:25). So, where are which were not written? It is in the Church. Jesus Christ entrusted the truth to the Church to guide its members and sustenance of true teachings. He made the Church the foundation and depository of truth. (Tim 3:15-16) Which Church? The Roman Catholic Church, because its existence can be traced back to the days when Christ dwelt among men. Logic and Analogy - you can not deposit your money in a bank which is not yet existing, so when Christ deposited the truth, it was deposited to the Church which is already existing.

B. History. In order not to be confused and mislead, we must learn the history of our Church. We can not ignore "history" in search for truth. Questions like who founded your Church? when was your Church founded? who gave your Church the authority to teach, to preach, to baptize? are material facts to be learned as it will lead you to truth. The RCC was founded by Christ through Simon Peter (Mt 16:18) and He (JC) gave to Peter the key (or authority) of the Church (Mt 16:19). The giving of authority was directly declared or done, unlike the many nowadays who got their authority through "assumption". The authority was given to the Church through Peter. Anything which was given can not be taken back. Anything which was given can not be given again. From Peter the authority was transferred to Linus (2Tim 4:21) then to St. Clement (Phil 4:4) down to present Pope, Pope Benedict XVI. Are you surprised that even the immediate successors of Peter are mentioned in the Bible? Every Catholic must learn that the Pope is considered the Vicar of Christ. As such, Catholics must honor and respect him being made the visible head of the Church. This does not grab from Jesus the title of being the real head of the Church since Pope is only a member of the Church.

C. Logic or Reasoning. It is mentioned earlier that the Bible does not contain everything Jesus Christ taught and did on earth. Even the history of the Church is not written in the Bible. When we read "verses" in the bible, there are implied meanings which are not explicitly written as they are implied. We will be able to know which Church was founded by Christ using these verses through logic and reasoning.

This is what I like most in going home to Masiga. I love to hear my tatay's teachings.
Let's celebrate the Black Saturday Mass.

Confessions of a Loving Daughter

To be perfectly honest, sometimes I find it hard to express my gratitude with love, honesty and authenticity. I may not always show it but I do appreciate my parents for consistently loving us.

To my loving parents,

Thank you for loving us.
Thank you for guiding and nurturing us.
Thank you for the countless hugs and kisses.
Thank you for keeping us safe and secure during our early childhood.
Thank you for teaching us ABC's.
Thank you for setting consistent consequences whenever we did something wrong.  We were able to learn and grow maturely.
Thank you for forbidding us to watch TV during weekdays. We were able to shape our own discipline.
Thank you Papa for the beautiful love letters you've sent me. The contents are worth their weight in gold. I treasure them dearly.

Taken during their 2010 summer vacation.

Thank you for sending us to a good school.
Thank you Mama for making cakes and delightful dishes during our birthdays.
Thank you for introducing us to Santa Claus. Our enthusiasm for Christmas did not wither.
Thank you for teaching us the art of praying.
Thank you for always having constant hope for me when I didn't have for myself.
Thank you for throwing us into the sea. We were able to swim without drowning.
Thank you for the emotional support when I failed my first nursing board exam.
Thank you Papa for being the sweetest Angel when you said "di lang kita aakayin, kakargahin pa kita." In my weakest moment you've given me comfort.
Thank you for understanding my shortcomings.

Thank you for continuously telling me not to give up when I said I couldn't do it anymore.
Thank you for being a good mediator when my siblings and I are having petty quarrels. Thank you for treating us equally and never swelled on one side of an argument.
Thank you for nursing me whenever I get sick.
Thank you Mama for flying from Marinduque to Manila just to visit me when I had my first delivery. We are still hoping for our second child.
Thank you for those overseas phone-calls during special occassions.
Thank you for loving my daughter as your own.
Thank you for everything!

I love you Papa and Mama.
I thank God for having you as my greatest gift.

Happy birthday to my mother in law. I hope that this day will bring her an extra share of all that will make her the happiest!

I Love Her from Head to Toe Tip

Credit: Smilebox

 Archie's favorite song!

Isn't She Lovely
-Stevie Wonder-

Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful?
Isn't she precious? Less than one minute old
I never thought through love
We'd me making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she pretty? Truly the Angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy, we have been been Heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
Through us He's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love?

Lovely, it could have not been done
Without you who conceived the one
That's so very love, made from love

My lovely little lady.

Valentine in April

"Embrace Imperfection."
My father told me this simple mantra that has obviously made their marriage one of those with the happiest. Ours is continuously leading the same way. This month Archie and I are going to celebrate our 12 years of marital bliss. We normally celebrate our anniversary with Pancit and ice cream. This year will probably just be same!

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies. -Aristotle-
Old songs elicit nostalgia. A peaceful walk. A delightful meal. An invigorating coffee. Absence of palpitation. An intimate spontaneous conversation with Archie. Life is amazingly beautiful!

Forget about flowers, expensive dinner date and gifts - they don't really define a good romance. A walk at the park, picnics, play chess as we often do, embark unplanned kitchen adventures, simple and sacred dinner, 'kulitan' with Dayne, laugh a lot and a good conversation are seemingly good choices to celebrate our anniversary this month. I'm so excited!

And certainly a 6PM mass is always significant.

Taken at the flat's lobby!

Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up. -James A. Baldwin-
Love is a meeting of two souls, fully accepting the dark and the light within each other bound by the courage to grow thru struggle into bliss.

Goodnight everyone!

A 15 SGD Celebration

Basking the heavenly taste and domesticated smell of freshly baked bread at the Bread Society.

Having Pancit Beehon and fried chicken combo from a hawker centre nearby.

Having our favorite Roti Prata soaked in curry sauce, a glass of OJ and a share of cheese pancake and grass jelly with soya milk.
Our darling Dayne!

We're so happy to know that Dayne attained the fourth place in academic. Yes, we are a team in parenting and a good team demands celebration!

Congratulations graduates!

Figuratively Essential

There is definitely no shame in desiring to look and feel good. However there are ladies who only worry about make up, clothing, shoes, perfume - those that are merely external. But those worth their salt know that it's not really about the good looks per se. Possessing well-defined features will not define a good person. More often than not, what really matters is our positives values and firm beliefs. It is very important to keep the beauty of our integrity.

'Mabait na, Maganda pa'
The face who introduced me to Rimmel. -Joan Zoleta-

Recently, I was introduced to a fresh line of make up brand - Rimmel. I mean, I am not a make up enthusiast so it is rather not familiar to me.

Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick - Red Fever -  The color is very saturated and stylish. Having light strokes on your lips will give you a natural red look.

I just love the shade!

Beauty products are one of the anti-aging mantra these days but it's true, there is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.

I love her classic look
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows.

The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.
If you share this with another woman, something good will happen -- you will boost another woman's self esteem, and she will know that you care about her.
-Audrey Hepburn-

"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart'."
Have a great Sunday brothers and sisters!
